Mary Parsons, age 101, after a long and full life, died on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. Mary was born in Cherokee County, Texas on June 25, 1917 to Joe Kennedy and Matilda (Tannery) Kennedy. Although being born and raised in Cherokee County, Mary spent 50 plus years in the Irving and Dallas Fort Worth area before living out her final 14 years in Lewisville, Texas. Mary worked in sales at American Uniforms for many years before retiring in 1987. Mary is preceded in death by her husband Malcolm D. Parsons (2000), granddaughter Denise Ragsdale and grandson Corey Wright. Left to cherish her memory are daughter Deloris Wright; son Mike Parsons; grandchildren Deanna Powell and Don Wright; great grandchildren Matthew Powell, Joshua Powell, T.J. Wright, Zach Wright, Aaron Wright, Haley Ragsdale; great-great grandchildren Grayson Powell, Mackenzie Powell, Gemma Rogers; sister Ethel Parsons; and numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and loving friends. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 North MacArthur Blvd., Irving, TX 75061. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 9, 2019 in the chapel of the funeral home. A graveside service will immediately follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 E. Irving Blvd., Irving, TX 75060. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to the charity of your choice.
