Obituary for Virginia Lane Howard (Reding)

Virginia Lane Howard of Irving passed away March 8, 2019. She was born on August 23, 1928 in Aubrey, Texas to Stonewall Jackson Reding and Willie M. (Wilkerson) Reding. Virginia was a member of Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving where she was active in her Joy Sunday School Class. She enjoyed traveling with her church group especially the trips to Branson and she traveled as far as Alaska with the group. She also enjoyed spending time with family and watching figure skating. Virginia taught Business and Typing with the Irving Independent School District and retired after 34 years of service in 1989 teaching 21 years at MacArthur High School. She is preceded in death by her husband Carroll Joseph Howard in 1995; daughter Carol Lynne Howard in 2017 and brothers Kenneth “Chunk” Reding and Bill Reding. Left to cherish her memory is her son Larry Howard and wife Joyce of Princeton; brother Jack Reding and wife Gene of Denton; sister Nathia Summers of Irving; grandchildren Dondi Johnston and husband Shaun of Princeton; Aimee Brown and significant other The Chad of The Colony; great-grandchildren Bria, Kadin, Savannah, Dylan, Leighla, Nobilei and Aiden. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with internment to follow at Restland Cemetery in Dallas.
