WA Compton, Jr. passed away March 16, 2019 in Irving at the age of 91. WA was born in Lofton Branch, Texas a community between Italy and Frost to parents William and Sallie “Glass: Compton. He was the youngest of 11 children. He is preceded in death by all his siblings, parents, wife Helen, son Randy Compton and grandson Shannon Watkins. He is survived by his daughter Susie Nair and husband Steve; son Ronnie Compton, stepson Ronnie Watkins, daughters-in-law Vicki Compton and Melanie Compton; seven grandchildren, Mark Watkins, Kelly Watkins, Jeremy Rhea, Tiffany Granzin, Damond Compton, Brandy Ramirez, Rachel LeMiere; 23 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. WA grew up in a large family in Italy, Texas where he was a member of The First Baptist church and attended the Italy ISD. He served in the United States Navy during WWII from 1944 to 1946 and in Korea from 1950 to 1953. He retired from LTV and Bell Helicopter, he was a lifelong Mason and long-time member of Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Italy cemetery 210 Crouch Street, Italy, Texas 76651.with a balloon release.
