Obituary for Mendal Hallmark

Mendal Hallmark, age 85, died peacefully at home, Thursday, April 25, 2019. He was born in Kingston, Oklahoma to William Whitmore and Sarah Elizabeth (Suther) Hallmark on Friday, January 19, 1934. Mendal, left Oklahoma and relocated to Texas. He found residence in Tyler and different places around the Dallas area for many years, until making Irving his home for the last 50 years. In 1991, after 26 years of service as a route manager for O’Connor Distributing, Mendal retired and it was at that time he met and married his wife Barbara. He was a proud member of the Hella Shrine Temple in Tyler, Texas. Mendal is preceded in death by his first wife Addie Marie Hallmark, sisters Ellen Middleton, Anna Clark and Billie Shasteen, brother Roger Hallmark, niece Anna Tyniece Hallmark and nephew Randy Hallmark. Left to cherish his memory are wife Barbara Hallmark; sons Chris and Michael Hallmark; brother J.W. Hallmark and wife Ellen; granddaughter Morgan Addie Grasham and husband Eric; granddaughter Aubree Hallmark; granddaughter Brooke Cannon and husband Darren; great granddaughter Emmy Cannon; great grandson Theodore Cannon who is due to arrive in this world any day now; beloved step children Connie and Vickie Lipics and Howard David Yeubanks along with numerous extended family and loving friends. A funeral service will be held 11:00am, Monday, April 29, 2019 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 N. MacArthur Blvd in Irving with an interment at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens immediately following.
