Obituary for Yvonne Meller (Arnold)

Yvonne Meller, age 83, awoke in Heaven on Wednesday, August 7, 2019. She was born in Atoka, Oklahoma to Herman Harvey and Lola Ellen (Flowers) Arnold on Friday, December 27, 1935. Yvonne was a 61-year resident of Irving, and member of Oakview Baptist Church for over 15 years, where she enjoyed singing with the Jubilee Singers and taught the New Believers class. Before joining Oakview Baptist Church, she was a member for 40 years at MacArthur Blvd Baptist Church. Yvonne worked as a teacher for the Irving Independent School District, teaching for 26 years at AS Johnston Elementary, where she taught grades second through the fifth grade, until her retirement in December of 1996. Her family lovingly remembers her talent as a seamstress and her amazing cooking abilities. Yvonne enjoyed traveling to many different places, but her favorite was taking cruises. She is preceded in death by her parents Herman and Lola Arnold and sister Maureen Kay. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of almost 63 years, Leon Meller; daughter Donna Myers and husband Robert; son Roland Meller and wife Sonja; son Leland Meller; granddaughter Angela Lippens – Myers and husband Ben; grandson Jonathan Myers and wife Diedre; grandson Matthew Myers; grandson Dustin Meller; granddaughter Amber Meller; grandson Jacob Meller and wife McKenzie; great grandchildren Nathan Lippens, Isaac Lippens and Lydia Myers; brother Harvey Arnold and wife Alene; sister Wanda Fillmore; sister DeLores Kelley, along with numerous extended family and friends. The family will receive friends between 6:00 and 8:00 pm, on Monday, August 12, 2019 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 N. MacArthur Blvd in Irving. A funeral service will be held 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Oakview Baptist Church, 1004 S. Story Rd in Irving, with a committal at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens immediately following.
