Obituary for Jefferson Earl Davis

Jefferson E. Davis, age 57, died on Tuesday, August 6, 2019. Jeff was born on October 4, 1961 in Wichita, Kansas to Janet Dee (Anderson) Davis and James Edward Davis. Jeff was a friend to many with an outgoing and easy to love personality. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas where he was a member of Delta Sigma Pi, Jeff went on to work for Fidelity Investments. He returned to UNT for his master’s degree while at Fidelity and then went on to work for Daimler Chrysler followed by Hotel.com/Expedia and then Prime Therapeutics, before ending his working career at American Airlines as a Corporate Trainer. Jeff was a member of the Association for Talent Development and held a CPLP Certification. Jeff used his knowledge for helping and training others in the corporate world, he enjoyed helping others improve their facilitation skills. He was a member of Plymouth Park United Methodist Church, where he was a mentor for the youth group, especially with their mission trips. With all his leadership responsibilities, Jeff still found time to enjoy travel, cooking, golf and sports, especially soccer. Jeff followed all sports at some level and could hold a knowledgeable conversation about any of them. He was a devoted Oklahoma Sooners and avid Pittsburg Steelers fan. Jeff is preceded in death by his father. Left to cherish his memory are wife Sherri Davis; son Jonathan Davis and wife Bethany of North Richland Hills; daughter Tara Lange and husband Rick of Dallas; brother David Davis and wife Irena of Temple; sister Debbie Wynn and husband Jerry of Phoenix, AZ; mother Janet DeWeerd and husband Charles “Chuck” of Copperas Cove; grandchildren affectionately referred to as Spud, Tater, and Tot. A memorial service is to be held at 2:30pm, Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Plymouth Park United Methodist Church, 1615 Airport Freeway, Irving, TX 75062. The Family requests memorial donations in Jeff’s honor to MD Anderson.
