Obituary

Ronald Roy Dulworth, age 77, died on Wednesday, August 21, 2019. Roy was born on October 11, 1941 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Lucille (Jones) Dulworth and Harrison Dulworth. Roy was a member of the Grapevine Masonic Lodge #288 for an excess of twenty years. He was passionate about his role as a Mason. Roy was also a member of the Grapevine Anglers for more than twenty ears. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Grapevine and served as a deacon. Roy loved fishing and was very talented at setting the hook and getting them to the boat. He enjoyed bowling and participated in leagues when he wasn’t running the kids to their own sporting activities. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunting was a definite priority when he was able. He was a wonderful friend to many and was always available to others when they needed help. Roy’s life is appropriately defined as one of service and sacrifice to those around him. Roy is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Donald Dulworth, Bill Dulworth; sister Doris Matlock. Left to cherish his memory are wife Lynda Dulworth; sons Jason Dulworth, Jeff Kirkuff and wife Lori; daughter Jennifer Young and husband Travis; sister in law Maxine Dulworth; sister Marzie Butler and husband J.M.; son in law John Downey and wife Kristin; daughters in law Stacey Myers and husband Paul, Stephane Deloach and husband Brad; grandchildren Hannah, Madison and Carson Kirkuff, Alyssa Young; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am to 10:30 am on Monday, August 26, 2019 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 North MacArthur Blvd., Irving, Texas 75061. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, August 26, 2019 at the funeral home. A graveside service will immediately follow at Shady Grove Cemetery, 3000 Hardrock Rd, Grand Prairie, TX 75050. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations be made in Roy’s name to the Grapevine Masonic Lodge #288.

I had the pleasure of hunting and fishing with Roy for many years. He was always a cherished friend of mine. My sympathy goes out to his family and many friends. His memories will remain in my heart forever. Rest in peace my friend. Steve Reese and family.

I have known Roy's family for over 50 years and he followed in his family's footsteps with having been one of the kindest, caring people I have ever known. He so reminded me of his Mom, she was a great seamstress who made many of the queens outfits for the Golden Triangle Riding Club. His gentle mannerism and kind words was definitely a trait of the Dulworth family, I hope it will be passed on for generations. Rest in peace Big Roy...
