Phred Balcom, age 66, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, August 21, 2019. He was born in Panama City, Florida to LaMonte Brainerd Balcom Jr. and Marcet (Fizer) Balcom on Monday, August 17, 1953. Phred served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Chris Bumgarner and brother Barry Balcom. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 33 years, Molly Balcom; son Clifford Bumgarner; daughter Lauren Modin and her husband Jeff; brother Monte Balcom; sister Janet Allison; sister Chris Perry; 4 grandchildren, Cole Williams, Ashton Modin, Bentley Modin and Lochlynn Modin as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends between 6:00 and 8:00pm, on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 N. MacArthur Blvd in Irving. A funeral service will be held 10:00am, Wednesday, August 28, 2019 also at the church. An interment will be at Tyler Memorial Cemetery, 12053 State Hwy 64 West in Tyler Texas at 2:00pm on Wednesday, August 28, 2019.
