Obituary for Billie Sue Yancey

Billie Sue Yancey of Irving passed away Saturday July 7, 2012. She was born June 10, 1930 in Sicily Island, Louisiana and was resident of Irving from 1958 to 2010 when she moved to Granbury, Texas. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, W. Kenneth Yancey, originally of Brookhaven MS. She is survived by her son W. Kenneth Yancey, Jr. and wife Alicia of Ashburn, Va.; daughter Karen Yancey Wilson and husband Walter of Granbury; three grandchildren W. Kenneth Yancey, III, Heath A. Yancey and Sarah Grace Wilson and a sister-in-law Mignonne White of Baton Rouge, LA as well as many close friends. Mrs. Yancey moved to Irving when her husband joined Southwest Bank and Trust in Irving in 1958. He retired as Chairman and CEO of InterFirst Bank Irving, Las Colinas and DFW Freeport. More recently he was Vice chairman of Bank of the West. She was very active socially including Past President of the Women’s Club, member of Rotary Anns, supporter of the Irving Symphony and Irving Community Hospital. She was a long time member of Plymouth Park United Methodist Church. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday July 11, 2012 at Plymouth Park United Methodist Church, Irving, TX. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Irving Healthcare Foundation, Plymouth Park United Methodist Church or the cancer charity of your choice.
